From the deepest part of my heart, I thank all my wonderful brides and grooms for choosing me to tell their story this past year. I still have to shake myself at times that THIS is my job. When sitting down to go through each of my wedding albums from the beginning of 2018 to the end, never would I have imagined the overwhelming emotions that would come with it. I sat in tears in my office, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.
These are not just captured photographs, these are stories- some of the very most intimate stories that I am welcomed into, stories that each have their own importance, uniqueness and vulnerability. These are all stories that deserve to be told, and I am so darn honored and humbled to be the one telling them. I realize that the photographs I take will go on to outlive each of us- they will be shown to generations and generations to come. They are so very important. And that is my driving force.
2018 will be a year I will never ever forget, and below is a compilation of my favorite photographs. As you will find, these aren’t just beautiful bride and groom portraits (though there are of course those, too). Whether it be the story behind the frame, a moment shared between father and son, the details she chose to make up her wedding day, an emotional grainy black and white, the tears as they stream down cheeks or maybe just a fun moment I snapped just in time- I gathered a multitude of photographs that make me proud and make me feel something, and I hope you find that they do you, too.
